    NeoVentures Biotechnology Inc. is using their own novel technology to develop lower cost and more rapid diagnostic tests for agricultural applications.  The company has successfully completed development of a biosensor for ochratoxin A, and are proceeding with validation trials with a view towards market entry in late 2008.  NeoVentures is also applying their novel platform technology to the identification of wheat varities.  The test will be based on a sample of intact grain, will require minimal operator expertise or capital cost, and will provide estimates of the proportion of varieties in a blend in less than five minutes.  NeoVentures is developing this technology in partnership with the Canadian Wheat Board.
