Convergence Laboratory Program

This great technology resource provides a well equipped facility at subsidized rates for use by entrepreneurial science and technology based startups that need to do proof of principle work or small companies who need temporary laboratory services. This lab occupies over 2,400 square feet on our first floor with benches and facilities able to support four to six entrepreneurial innovations simultaneously. Approximately $400,000 in laboratory equipment is available for use in one low monthly rate.

The Stiller Centre Prize

The Stiller Centre Prize is an annual world wide competition open to a person or group who have a terrific idea based on science that they are committed to commercializing. Candidates submit an application (not a business plan) explaining their idea and the market opportunity, which is then reviewed by a panel of exceptional business people who evaluate the science research needs and the individual's aptitude towards business and entrepreneurship. Up to five winners are awarded a one year opportunity to pursue their business at The Stiller Centre-Convergence Lab facilities with their expenses covered. Applications can be in any area of science and technology which may include; chemistry, plant sciences, nutraceuticals, diagnostics, therapeutics, biology, alternate fuels, processes, biomaterials, medical devices, nanotechnology, or any other area of science requiring wet lab facilities to advance research. www.stillercentreprize.com

Business Analyst Program

This resource enables young startup companies to accelerate market research, financial modeling and competitive analysis efforts. The Stiller Centre recruits MBA graduates with strong science undergraduate degrees in this internship program for one year terms. These hard working focused individuals support pre-incubation clients as well as those in the Stiller Centre. A great deal of work is done through this program to develop future entrepreneurs and leaders for our local technology companies. Our hope is that these dynamic MBAs join one of our regions entrepreneurs to help build a technology based company.

Shared Services Program

Finding equipment and knowledge resources at our major institutions is a daunting task. The shared services program is all about helping small and medium sized companies to find research support resources at a variable cost. We find resources in all science disciplines and can coordinate your connections so you do not have to wade through the traditional red tape of working with our institutions. Details of all technology services currently accessible are listed on Biovelocity.NET . If you have a need not listed, let us know and we will work to find it and make it available to your company. Your organization may wish to provide a shared resource for others to benefit. If so please contact Jennifer Dawe here at the Stiller Centre.
